So its spring 09. The time where fashion designers showcase their collections to fashion critics across the globe. Perhaps though, it is the fervent eyes of every ubiquitous 'it' girl, perched cross legged, clutching their chanel bags in anticipation, that stirs up the gut renching anxiety for the opulent fashion authorities.
Slightly overwhelmed by the amass of catwalk collections. I decided to narrow my sights for a label that epitomises fresh Bristish style, Luella Bartley. Her collections have adorned the glossy pages of magazines from Vogue to high street weeklys since her reputation flew sky high after the Spring/Summer 08 collections that were inarguably replicated throughout high street stores. The collection remains cemented in my mind - floral tea dresses, geek glasses, cute and quirky colours and lace up boots. Luella is a real breath of fresh air in the closet of high end fashion that to be honest - has become a bit stuffy.
So in honour of Luella - here are some of my favourite looks from her Spring 09 collection. Keeping in continuity with her previous collections - but with an even more intricate take on textures.
